Henri Matisse, The Dance (1), o/c, 1910 (MoMA)
Henri Matisse Dance-1909

Dance with Matisse

Movement in masterpieces
We hold hands with generations of patrons and lovers alike
It is through blue and green and skin tones that the earth binds us all
Eyes closed
Breathe Still
We bleed into each other
Forming bonds beyond belief and something for mankind to hold onto
Dance with me, she begs
As the earth turns over once more

Mata Hari

Jetta Goudal

Darkness, light. Strife and love. Are they the workings of one mind? The features of the same face?
Oh, my soul. Let me be in you now.  Look out through my eyes.
Look out at the things you made. All things shining.

Spring Foward/Fall Backwards 2012

Runway time of year is my favorite time of year.  We are blessed to view art in movement as women and men glide across glossed floors adorned in flawless designs.  As an advocate of the arts, fashion exerts the utmost team work that the overall community gets to witness.  Tens of hundreds of artists come together to create an event, a look, an expression that each year effects the way in which we live.

Spring Forward Couture 2012

Christian Dior Spring 2012.  Wide V neckline, large bow, floral detailing and gorgeous shoes mimicking the material of the dress.  Spells out the idea of spring blooming into a new year.

Jean Paul Gaultier 2012.  The flamboyant artist mixes tailored lines, girly flair and fantastically colored hair on the runway this year evoking fun and fairly practical looks for the season.
Givenchy 2012.  This look was one of my very favorites, but does not even tell the tale of how amazing this photo shoot was set up.  Gorgeous in creativity and overall execution.  The lips on every model are like biting into a forbidden apple. This gown is flawless in detail and design.

Spring Ready to Wear 2012

Dries Van Noten Spring 2012. Love this look.  Peplum pants are fantastic.  This is what I will be wearing to the office this spring.  Preppy and girly.

Alexander McQueen Spring 2012.  Always a personal favorite.  The detail is impeccable.  The feminine shape has tightlacing and a great mix of fashion eras all in one dress.

Christian Dior Spring 2012.  This is the dress I have chosen for spring and summer events this year.  Flawless in beauty.  Perfect amount of sparkle, gorgeous color and ideal neckline for hosting company or being the understated fashionista of the party.

Fall Backwards 2012

Naeem Khan Fall 2012.  Perfectionist when it comes to the bead adorned gown.  The pattern is delightfully busy and offsets the heavy beaded bodice.  Transcends from the runway to The Metropolitan Club event seamlessly.

Marchesa Fall 2012.  The best accent to a formless frock is tooling ruffling out of the bottom.  Beautiful colors.  Hope to be wearing this in the fall. If I were getting married, I would board my jet to the honeymoon in this.

Rodarte Fall 2012.  Fall in love with fall is what this Rodarte dress says to me.  Gorgeous neckline, beautiful mixture of fabrics and textures.  This hair style was also the big talk on the runway this fall.

Zac Posen Fall 2012.  It was hard picking my favorite look from Zac's fall line.  Every outfit was classically gorgeous with fitted tailoring due to an overall Asian influence.  This fur coat was my weakness though.  I would feel like an heiress in this design.

Looking Glass Walls

Looking Glass Walls

Looking glass walls
Were all she ever saw
Globes filled with snow
Let her watch where to go

Looking vs. Living
Lends lots of time for giving
She mends her soul
By crawling out of a big black hole

Looking glass walls
Were but a mystery to them all
Wind set rhythm to flow
Watching oneself as you grow

Care enough to do the forgiving
Constant movement needs periodical pivoting
Living by life’s simple rules
Weighs out greed and intentions that are cruel

Looking in can prevent an inevitable fall
Doorways open at the end of a long hall
Find the key to make history.

i sit with father
reading him a dusty book
that he cannot hear

why can't he hear me
i ask my mother who sobs
but she does not say
